Resubmission Commentary
This is an optional service geared toward manuscripts that have undergone peer review and are at the resubmission stage. With the peer review system, it is rare for a manuscript to be accepted with no revisions. An editor or peer reviewer will most often respond with a letter outlining necessary changes and recommendations for revision and clarification. If an author does not adequately respond to these suggestions and questions, the paper is unlikely to be accepted. With a Resubmission Commentary, a ProEditor reviews the editor’s and referee’s comments on your original submission, and ensures that your revisions and response letter adequately address the suggested changes.
Limitations of the Resubmission Commentary
- The ProEditor will not rewrite the reply letter or alter the manuscript to meet the requests in the reviewer’s comments.
- The Resubmission Commentary does not guarantee acceptance of the manuscript to the journal of submission.
- Clients cannot discuss the Resubmission Commentary with the ProEditor.
When Ordering a Resubmission Commentary
- Please include the reviewer’s comments, revised manuscript, and reply letter. Editing of the cover letter is optional but recommended, since it is an important piece in the resubmission process.
- For manuscripts not previously translated or edited by ProEdit Japan, please include the revised manuscript as well as the originally submitted manuscript.
- Please understand in advance that charges will apply to the entire manuscript. The Resubmission Commentary is only available for reviewer’s comments and response letters in English.
